1. CRITICAL THINKING:

When we think critically we read, listen to, and view information through a variety of media. We consider the information objectively and evaluate it in order to form a judgment.

For this task you will create a Canva design in which you explain the pros and cons of a particular issue. Then you will explain which perspective you agree with and why.

Examples:

• Students should be required to wear school uniforms.
  
• Sugary unhealthy snacks should cost more than fruits and vegetables.
  
• Everyone should be required to volunteer at least 10 hours each year for community service.
  

2. CURATION:

Curation is the process of selecting, organizing, and maintaining resources in a collection with a purpose. Collections may be curated for academic or personal use.

For this task you will create a Canva design that showcases 3 resources focusing on a particular interest of yours such as a sport, hobby, or collection. Be sure to explain each resource and why you chose it. Resources may include:

3. COMPASSION:

When we feel compassion for other people we understand the challenges that they are dealing with, and we try to help alleviate their physical, mental, or emotional pain.

For this task you will imagine that you are participating in a competition to win $500 for your favorite charity or organization. Create a Canva “elevator pitch” and include the following:

• name of the charity or organization
• mission or purpose of the charity or organization
• reason why you chose this charity or organization
• ways that people can support this charity or organization

4. cross-cultural understanding:

Although we may differ in the way we look, the language that we speak, or the traditions that we follow we are all human beings with similar goals and struggles.

For this task you will create a Canva design about a classmate from a different cultural background than your own. Some ideas to include are:

5. communication:

We can share so much not only by our words, but also by our facial expressions and our body language. Being able to communicate is an important skill for school presentations, self-advocacy, and job interviews.

For this task you will create a Canva news broadcast. Some ideas to include are:

6. citizenship:

Being a good citizen online is just like being a good citizen in real life face to face. We must practice appropriate and responsible behavior which includes digital literacy, ethics, online safety, rights, and etiquette. Good digital citizens make good choices.

For this task you will create a proper citizenship Canva design. Some ideas to include are:

• your ideas about proper citizenship in real life
  
• your ideas about proper citizenship online
  
• your promise to be a proper citizen in real life and in the digital world
  

7. collaboration:

Alone we can do great things, but when we come together we can do the impossible! Collaboration is a skill that not only helps us in school or on the job. Collaboration helps us to develop strong relationships with our families, our friends, and even with people we just met.

For this task you will collaborate with one or more people to create a Canva design. Here is a suggested outline:

• Decide on topic, theme, or focus for your design.
  
• Together plan the full design.
  
• Discuss who will be responsible for which parts.
  
• Share and collaborate together to create the design.
  
• Use the comment feature to leave feedback for the group.
  

8. character:

They say that actions speak louder than words. What we do and how we treat others is a reflection on our character.

For this task you will create a Canva design about your hero. This can be someone that you know personally, someone who is alive or deceased, a famous person, or even a fictional character. Some ideas to include are:

• name of your hero
  
• picture of your hero
  
• birth/death dates if applicable
  
• background information
  
• reasons why you consider this person a hero
  

9. creativity:

One of the special things that makes us who we are is our creativity. Creativity doesn’t just mean being a talented artist or musician. Creativity can take many forms such as writing, dancing, playing sports, and making things.

For this task you will have complete freedom to be as creative as you can! Create a Canva about anything you like. Try to use as many of the Canva features as possible.
